We designed Plan Your Meal with privacy in mind. We do not create user accounts, we do not sell data, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Plan Your Meal does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information. We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Location data
- Health, dietary, or financial information beyond what you voluntarily enter in the app
- Device identifiers used for advertising
- Browsing or usage history across other apps or websites
2. Data You Enter in the App
Preferences you set (weekly budget, number of servings, dietary restrictions, cuisine types, and grocery sale items) are stored locally on your device using your device's local storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party, except as described in Section 3.
3. AI-Powered Meal Generation
When you tap Cook From My Pantry, Plan Your Meal securely sends the pantry information and meal preferences you provide to our server so it can generate a personalized meal plan.
This may include pantry ingredient names, quantities, units, expiry information, household size, budget, dietary preferences, cuisine preferences, and grocery preferences.
Requests are processed only long enough to generate a response and are not permanently stored. Specifically:
- Requests are processed transiently — we do not store your meal plan requests or generated results on our servers beyond the time needed to deliver the response (typically under 30 seconds).
- No personal identifiers are attached to these requests.
- Anthropic processes this data under their Privacy Policy.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Plan Your Meal Premium is an optional auto-renewing monthly subscription. Subscription purchases and all billing are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Plan Your Meal does not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details or banking information.
To verify subscription entitlements — confirming whether your subscription is active after a purchase, a renewal, or a restore — Plan Your Meal uses RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management platform. RevenueCat receives:
- An anonymous device identifier (not linked to your name or email address)
- Your App Store purchase receipt, used solely to verify entitlement status
- Subscription status and renewal information provided by Apple
RevenueCat does not receive your pantry data, meal preferences, or any other information you enter in the app. RevenueCat processes this data under their Privacy Policy. Apple processes all payment transactions under their Privacy Policy.
5. Analytics and Crash Reporting
We do not currently use any third-party analytics or crash reporting services. If we add them in the future, this policy will be updated and the app will be updated accordingly.
6. Cookies and Tracking
The Plan Your Meal app does not use cookies or any cross-app tracking technologies.
7. Children's Privacy
Plan Your Meal is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Data Retention
Since meal plan preferences are stored only on your device, you can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings. Transient server-side job data (used to deliver your generated plan) is automatically purged within 15 minutes.
9. Security
All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. We follow security best practices to protect the systems we operate.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
